Twas the day before Christmas and all through the school The teachers were teaching and trying to be cool, The kids were not studying not even a bit So Zonneveld and Klassen were having a fit.
Although they were locked up all snug in their classrooms The students just sat there and acted like mushrooms “What can we do to get them to work?” “They’re still doing nothing, they’re acting like Jerks”.
When all of a sudden Zonneveld had an idea “Why didn’t I think it before, mama mia! If we get every teacher to sing them a song, Then learning will happen, it shouldn’t take long.”
So out to the halls the two went And pleaded with teachers until they were spent No one was willing to sing, not a note Not even Fiocca, that cranky old goat.
They claimed they were tired and kids did not care They whined and they whinged and cried, “this is not fair” And so the admin team carried along And tried to get teachers to burst into song.
“Not me”, croaked old Schilte and Collie and Pellow “I’ll not sing a note”, grumped each one of those fellows. How about Hubbard or Harshaw, Beens or Buchanan? Hoeg or Holland or Franklin or Freeman?
But each teacher they met with simply denied That singing was the only thing left to be tried. “I know!” shouted Klassen in Zonneveld’s ear “We’ll try the secretaries, they’re full of good cheer!”
And so the two trudged their way back to the office But were stopped on the way by head caretaker Burgess. “I’ve heard you want singing, I’ve heard you want joy The next thing you’ll want us all giving out toys!”
“No, just singing will do”, said the two right away “We just want the teachers to sing – OK?” So they went to the office to plead with the ladies To sing, sing, sing, sing before we all went to Hades.
“Sing Baranick, sing Foster, sing Neilson, sing Davies”, The two administrators entreated those ladies. Their efforts, it seemed had all be for naught, Their singing could not be begged borrowed or bought.
Klassen and Zonneveld were losing their zeal, When a single thought hit them, “We’ll go see McNeil!” With thoughts of sweet carols to banish the gloom, They went with great speed to Beamsville’s music room.
“We’ve tried everything to bring joy to these halls But no one, oh no one, will answer our calls. Your kids sing everyday and they do it quite gladly, You must teach our teachers, we need you quite badly.
But Mrs. McNeil was not easily won “Have you tried all the teachers, every last one?” Wiersma and Arkell, D’Amelio, Druce? Gibson and Gordon, Elzinga and Bruce?
We’ve tried them all, even Ms. Tauro But not even her voice could we convince her to borrow McNeil looked round and picked up her baton “I’ll do it”, she cried, “the show must go on!
“So round up those teachers and get them on stage And we’ll sing for the students, we’ll be all the rage” So they got all the teachers, that industrious pair And soon sweet singing filled all the air.
The students came out of their trances that day But we all need to sing, to keep them that way So please raise your voices in boisterous cheer And thank all your stars that the holiday’s near!

Social media has become a part of most of our lives over the past years and is constantly evolving. With this growing technology comes great risk for our young people. Many students/staff were unaware of the risks and possible consequences that could result from certain comments and/or pictures that are posted to various social media.
